For many years there has been strong interest to increase local procurement as a means of retaining more ‘local spend’ and strengthening our Regional economy.
In response, Armidale Regional Council will convene a series of workshops over the next six months to discuss various aspects of local and other types of government procurement.
The first session will have a local government focus. It will be held on 20th November at 5.30pm at the New England Regional Art Musuem's Mazda Theatre, covering topics such as tendering, quotations, purchasing and supplier arrangements.
Presenter Cindy Garrahy is a long-term local and ARC’s Program Leader for Procurement. She is passionate about local procurement and keen to inform as many local businesses as possible about how to improve their competitiveness in securing local government contracts.
